About the Program
Earn both a diploma and a degree in as little as four years. This program offers an opportunity to save on tuition compared to a traditional four-year university program. Start at Seneca and complete your bachelor’s degree at our top-tier university partners including; the University of Toronto, York University, Trent University and St. George’s University School of Medicine.
The ASU program allows you to apply with U, M or C credits. The curriculum includes math, chemistry, biology, physics, humanities and social sciences, with hands-on experiences in state-of-the-art labs. Benefit from dedicated support, smaller class sizes and one-on-one advising to help you meet university admission requirements and gain skills for success.
If you are applying as a mature domestic student, Academic Upgrading courses are available if you require additional credits to meet the admission requirements.

Program and Course Delivery
This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.
Throughout this program you will develop the following skills:
- Develop and defend arguments in humanities and social sciences
- Apply the scientific method to investigate complex problems
- Use written, verbal and digital communication tools and strategies to disseminate information for a variety of purposes
- Use scientific terminology to describe natural phenomena
- Understand the development of Western thought in a global context
- Question cultural norms to develop a personal worldview

Program Learning Outcomes
This Seneca program has been validated by the Credential Validation Service as an Ontario College Credential as required by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
As a graduate, you will be prepared to reliably demonstrate the ability to:
- Develop laboratory skills to systematically explore phenomena in the natural world.
- Use evidence-based practices to develop and defend arguments in the humanities and social sciences.
- Describe how the scientific method is used to investigate complex problems in the natural sciences.
- Use written, verbal, and digital communication tools and strategies to disseminate information for a variety of purposes.
- Employ scientific terminology and concepts to describe natural phenomena.
- Describe the development of western thought in a global context and relate to the modern world.
- Question cultural norms in order to develop a personal world view in relation to others.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or a mature applicant with:
- Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)
- Grade 12 Mathematics: (C) or (U) or Grade 11 Mathematics: (U) or (M)
Canadian citizens and permanent residents may satisfy the English and/or mathematics requirements for this program through successful Seneca pre-admission testing.
Recommended upgrading for applicants who do not meet academic subject requirements.
Although not required for admission, the following courses are recommended for success in the program:
- Grade 12 Mathematics: MCV4U Calculus and Vectors, MHF4U Advanced Functions, or MCT 4C Mathematics for College Technology
International Student Information
International admissions requirements vary by program and in addition to English requirements, programs may require credits in mathematics, biology, and chemistry at a level equivalent to Ontario’s curriculum, or a postsecondary degree or diploma, equivalent to an Ontario university or college.
