About the Program
This graduate certificate program is a fast-track option for four-year degree graduates to pursue a career in accounting. This program is open to students with minimal existing knowledge of accounting. The program will provide you with all required Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) preparatory-level courses. Upon successful completion of the courses, you will be eligible to register for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
You will study financial and management accounting, tax, information systems, audit, finance and economics. You will develop your analytical and interpretation skills to make sound ethical decisions.
You will be introduced to the modern technological environment of business using spreadsheets (Excel), database software (Access) and integrated database application technologies (ERP) through exposure to accounting software packages). You will also gain industry exposure through research, case studies and projects.
The PRA full-time option is accelerated to fast-track students into the CPA program. If you are interested in completing the PRA program on a part-time basis or individual course-by-course basis for more flexibility, please see part-time options available.

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents educated outside of Canada must provide a World Education Services (WES) or ICAS Canada credential evaluation.
Notes
You do not require a background in accounting for this program, but a facility for mathematics and financial concepts is highly recommended for your success.

International admissions requirements vary by program and in addition to English requirements, programs may require credits in mathematics, biology, and chemistry at a level equivalent to Ontario’s curriculum, or a postsecondary degree or diploma, equivalent to an Ontario university or college.
